DIRECTOR/OSTEOPATH
HELEN WRIGHT BSc(Hons)Ost(UK);PGDip(HlthErg)UK
ACC/NZ Registered Osteopath
My journey in osteopathy started in London and brought me to Auckland in 2001 and Pukekohe in 2004 when I established Osteopathy Pukekohe.
I enjoy an active lifestyle. I love my sports (road cycling, mountain biking, tramping, swimming), my garden and my 'down time'. I value the importance of optimum mind/body health. What motivates me in clinic is being part of the process that helps patients live life to the full and fulfil their dreams.
My osteopathic approach is firm, strong, gentle......versatile. I use a variety of techniques including a range of soft tissue techniques to release the muscles, the fascia and other soft tissues, spinal and joint manipulations (audible click) and the very gentle, non invasive cranio sacral techniques . Every treatment or management approach is tailored to suit the individual young (including babies) and old. It is not one treatment fits all but it is one treatment that addresses all.
I have attended and continue to attend development/training courses both here and in the UK. I spent 12 years on the clinic supervisory/teaching team at Unitec where many of our NZ osteopaths are trained. Through out my osteopathic career in NZ, and particularly through my time on the teaching staff at Unitec, I have become familiar with osteopaths graduating and venturing out to start their own osteopathic journey. I am now fortunate to have a cohesive strong team here at Osteopathy Pukekohe.

JANE McCULLOCH
BAPPSc (Human Biology); MOst (NZ)
ACC/NZ Registered Osteopath
I graduated from UNITEC with a degree in Health Sciences and Masters in
Osteopathy.
My passion for osteopathy lies with looking at the bigger picture of health; day to
day we experience many different stressors in our individual environments that
can impact on our physical wellbeing. This has led to extensive and ongoing
study in the areas of osteopathy in the cranial field and visceral manipulation. I
believe these gentle treatment approaches can be combined with manipulation
and articulation of the spine, muscles and limbs to achieve great results for
patients. I provide an individualised treatment for each patient, looking at what
could be causing symptoms, not just the symptoms themselves.
I love exploring new places to eat, taking pottery classes and being amongst nature to ground myself in this busy world.

PAUL TWIGGS
DO (OSTEOPATHY) UK
ACC/NZ Registered Osteopath
I graduated from the British School of Osteopathy in 1985 and subsequently practised and taught at the BSO 1986-1989. In 1993 I moved to New Zealand and set up a clinic in Mairangi Bay. I spent a number of years teaching on the undergraduate and post graduate osteopathy programme at Unitec, Auckland.I now juggle my osteopathic practice between Mairangi Bay and Pukekohe.
I incorporate a range of techniques into my treatment approach and include spinal/joint manipulation. My treatment approach can be firm/strong however every treatment is tailored to suit the individual and is adapted to be as gentle or firm as is deemed necessary/appropriate.
Outside of Osteopathy I love the finer things in life (food and wine).

NESA AREFIAN
ACC/NZ Registered Osteopath
Nesa, originally from Iran, has been in New Zealand since 2011. Nesa was previously a successful dentist for 8 years and along with her new life in NZ came a change of career. Nesa's passion for osteopathy goes back to her dentistry profession as she often had patients complaining of teeth/jaw symptoms without any major dental issue(s). Nesa was wondering if those pains and symptoms could originate from other areas. This encouraged her to do more research on Osteopathy as an approach that believes that the body functions as a "whole" and not as isolated departments. Her first intention in studying Osteopathy was to focus on TMJ (jaw) pain and toothache, but now she truly believes in the whole philosophy that “the body functions as a holistic unit”. Nesa has also undertaken additional training in lymphatic drainage techniques and is passionate about helping her patients and providing different treatment plans dependent on patients’ conditions.
Nesa lives with her son and her adorable and naughty German Shepherd called Sina.

I graduated with a Postgraduate Diploma in Osteopathy at ARA Institute of Canterbury.
As a Clevedon based competitive horse rider I am open to providing treatment to the local equestrian community with insider knowledge of the aches and pains that often go hand-in-hand with the sport. I don't only treat equestrians but patients of ages and from all backgrounds. My osteopathic approach uses manipulative and non-manipulative techniques.

REBECCA STANDEN
ACC/NZ Registered Osteopath
My appreciation of osteopathy comes from my father, who has been a practising osteopath since I was born. As a result, through a wide range of close experience, I have learned about the profession, the philosophy, and the breadth of examples where osteopathy is beneficial. I have seen the benefit it can bring to people and how it can enhance their lives and well-being.
I studied in London at the British School of Osteopathy (currently known as the University College of Osteopathy), graduating with a Masters in Osteopathy (M.Ost) in 2010. I spent time working in the UK before moving to New Zealand in 2015 and to Pukekohe in 2016. Working in various clinics in the UK and NZ has allowed me to see and treat multiple people and symptoms and broaden my skills within the field.
I enjoy working with people, hearing their stories and working with them to resolve their symptoms, thus enabling individuals to live and move more comfortably and confidently. I believe that feeling good and living well is essential, as life is about movement, progression and happiness.
