OSTEOPATHY PUKEKOHE
'BABY'
The clinic offers the chance for your baby to be assessed for a range of problems or just simply a check up.
Osteopathy can assist in a wide variety of conditions or symptoms using a gentle approach.
An osteopathic assessment of a baby can reveal clearly how the baby's self correction is progressing as it has made the transition from the womb to the world. This self correction process, 'unmoulding' , is essential.
In an ideal situation the baby's body will 'unmould' or 'remodel' over a period of 1-3 weeks. During this time the strains and compressions experienced in the womb and during birth will unfold and relax. If the baby's system is unable to correct itself then permanent compression patterns/strain patterns may remain throughout the body but particularly in the cranium, the thorax and the pelvis.
Strain patterns that go unresolved can result in a number of symptoms or presentations including colic, wind, reflux, sleeping difficulties, crying, irritability, infections and feeding/latching difficulties etc.
Osteopathy is a gently treatment approach that works to relieve the retaining strains throughout the baby's body enabling it to function at its optimum thereby allowing healthy functioning and development and giving you a baby that is happy and relaxed.
